Southwick Girls Shoot Past McCann Tech
SOUTHWICK, Mss. -- Southwick's Madelyn Burkholder made six 3-pointers to score a game-high 18 points and lead the Rams to a 75-31 win over McCann Tech on Monday night.
As a team, Southwick converted 12 times from behind the arc in completing a season sweep of the Hornets.
"They are very deep and have really good shooters," McCann Tech coach Justin Kratz said. We aren't deep enough to try and keep up with them individually so we had to rely on our zone which we are playing better and better but they just shoot lights out.
"Twelve 3-pointers is a lot, and the girls really were working to contest the best they could so there were a few that Southwick got loose on and hit wide open but a lot of them were well-contested shots."
Faith Brazeau got to the free throw line eight times and scored 17 points to lead McCann Tech, which got six points from Aiden Champney.
The Hornets (2-11) go to Lee on Thursday.
