Longmeadow Softball Downs Pittsfield in Eight Innings
LONGMEADOW, Mass. – Delaney Schrager doubled in a run with one out in the bottom of the eighth to give the Longmeadow softball team a 3-2 win over Pittsfield on Tuesday.
In the top of the seventh, Nevaeh Lopez homered to left field to drive in Paxton Ebling, who doubled, to give the Generals a 2-0 lead.
But the Lancers answered in the bottom of the inning when Gabby Palma hit a two-run double to tie it and force extra innings.
Longmeadow pitcher Livia Kelly then retired Pittsfield’s lineup in order in the top of the eighth to set the stage for the winning rally.
Gionnah Levardi went the distance in the circle for PIttsfield, striking out three and allowing two earned runs.
Ebling went 4-for-4 at the plate.
Pittsfield (1-5) hosts Monson on Thursday.
