DALTON, Mass. – Sammie Kaley homered and tripled Monday to lead the Wahconah softball team to a 13-1 win over Frontier

Kaley went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in three runs to lead an 11-hit Wahconah attack.

Mariah Barnes and Alliah DiPietro each went 2-for-3, and Harper Keay and Marlee Arhnold each tripled for Wahconah (4-4), which snapped a four-game losing streak.

“Great win against a very good team,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. “I’m proud of the way we responded after a tough week last week. The kids played really well tonight.”

Frontier (6-3) managed just five hits against Keay, who earned a complete-game, five-inning win while allowing no earned runs.

Keay struck out five and walked one to earn the win.

Wahconah jumped ahead early with three runs in the bottom of the first. After Frontier got one back in the top of the second, Keay hit a two-run triple in the middle of a five-run second-inning rally to put Wahconah up, 8-1.

Kaley’s inside-the-park home run to left in the bottom of the third drove in Madison McCarthy (2-for-3)  and Gracey Farley to make it 11-1.

Wahconah is home on Wednesday evening to face Mount Greylock.
