Mount Everett Softball Falls at Chicopee

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Chicopee softball team capitalized on 12 Mount Everett errors to earn a 16-5 win on Wednesday afternoon.

 

London Krans went 3-for-3 with a double for the Eagles, who got a double from Ainsley Krans and a pair of hits from Makayla Carpenter.

 

“Another rough start in the beginning for us defensively put us in a 5-0 to start the game,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “The girls did battle back to tie it 5-5 going into the bottom of the second but we had another inning of errors which put us down 8-5 going into the third. We had some momentum going with bases loaded but some key baserunning mistakes kept us off the scoreboard that inning and the next.”

 

Chloe Hotaling and Ainsley Krans split time in the circle for Mount Everett, combining to allow 10 earned runs.

 

Mount Everett (1-1) is at Ludlow on Friday.
