Monument Mountain Softball Tops Lee

LEE, Mass. – Gianna Beacco went 2-for-4 with a double and five RBIs Thursday to lead the Monument Mountain softball team to a 9-2 win over Lee.

 

Andrea Paul struck out six and walked three to earn the complete-game win in the circle.

 

Lee’s Bri Lynch struck out 16 and gave up five earned runs in taking the loss.

 

Offensively, the Wildcats got a two-run home run from Karalynn Hopkins in the bottom of the first. But the Spartans tied it in the third and took a 5-2 lead in the fourth.

 

Lee (2-3) is at Mount Greylock on Friday.

 

Monument Mountain (5-1) hosts Drury on Tuesday.
