Hoosac Valley Girls Edged in Two Overtimes
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Nolan Craven scored five goals Tuesday to lead the Pope Francis girls lacrosse team to a 15-14 win over Hoosac Valley in two overtimes.
Emma Meczywor and Reagan Shea each scored four goals for the Hurricanes, who got three goals from Jacinta Felix and a pair of scores from Maryn Cappiello.
“Unfortunately, we didn't finish when we needed to,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly West said. “We had multiple chances to put it away, but rushed or didn't set up on offense. We also gave up too many ground balls in the midfield.”
Cameron Lovato and Kennedy Whitley again split time in Hoosac Valley’s goal, combining for 12 saves.
The Hurricanes (8-2) are at Lee on Thursday.
