Amherst Hands Hoosac Valley Girls First Loss
AMHERST, Mass. – Ava Corey scored five goals Monday to lead the Amherst-Pelham girls lacrosse team to a 12-9 win over Hoosac Valley.
Tamiko Bhowmik scored twice as Amherst’s Hurricanes handed Hoosac’s Hurricanes their first loss of the season.
“We didn’t come to play today and had to shift people being down numbers,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly West said. “Ashlyn [Lesure] and Peyton [Choquette] were our shining stars today.”
Leisure scored five goals and recorded a pair of assists. Maryn Cappiello and Emma Meczywor scored twice each, and Choquette finished with an assist.
Cameron Lovato stopped five shots in Hoosac Valley’s goal.
Hoosac Valley (5-1) hosts Springfield Central on Wednesday.
