NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Musa Thompson scored twice and set up a goal Thursday to lead the McCann Tech boys lacrosse team to a 5-4 win over Chicopee Comprehensive.

 

Cole Maxwell and Parker Hart each had a goal and an assist, and Brayden Villnave scored in the defensive battle.

 

“This was a hard fought game,” McCann Tech coach Marshall Maxwell said. “Our defense stepped up. They kept us in the game on a day where we didn’t have our best offensive performance.”

 

Brody Rhinemiller stopped 12 shots to earn the win in goal for the Hornets.

 

“I told the team that your goalie needs to win a couple of games on his own,” Maxwell said. “Brody Rhinemiller did that today. He made big save after big save. We are entering a tough stretch against two quality opponents in Lenox and Northampton. We like the progress that we are seeing day to day and look forward to challenging ourselves to compete with these two programs.”

 

McCann Tech (2-1) is at Lenox on Saturday afternoon.
