Florence Jones, 93

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mrs. Florence (Jozefiak) Jones, 93, of North Adams, formerly of Adams, died Saturday evening, April 19, 2025 at Williamstown Commons. She was born in Adams on November 14, 1931, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Lewczak) Jozefiak, and attended Adams schools, graduating from the former Adams High School with the Class of 1949.
Florence last worked as an executive secretary at GE Plastics in Pittsfield for 30 years until she retired. Earlier, she had worked in the Veteran Services office at Adams Town Hall for several years. Following her retirement, she volunteered at C.T. Plunkett Elementary School in Adams and the Elder Services Meals on Wheels Program. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. She was a member of the Clarksburg Senior Citizens, the Adams Senior Citizens, the Jollee Circle and the Red Hat Society. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed swimming, word games and camping.
Her husband, Russell W. Jones, whom she married on September 22, 1956, died on April 11, 1982. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn DePaoli and her husband, Gary, of Stamford, VT, her son, Rev. Martin J.W. Jones, Parochial Vicar of St. Peter and St. Lawrence Churches, Killingworth, CT; two grandchildren, Ashley DePaoli and Michael DePaoli; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her six brothers, Walter, Casimer, Stanley, Joseph, Francis and John Jozefiak, and by her five sisters, Zofia Jozefiak, Kazimiera Bialas, Celia Gebauer, Stella Duda and Anna Pszeniczny.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 24th at 12 Noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 25 Hoosac St. Adams, by her son, Rev. Martin J.W. Jones. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Adams. A calling will be held in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, on Thursday from 10:30 A M until 11:30 AM, directly before the funeral.
