April M. Swanner 74

ADAMS, Mass. - Mrs. April M. (Yetz) Swanner, 74, of Adams, died on Thursday evening, April 18, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Pittsfield on January 24, 1950, a daughter of the late Rocco and Hazel (Benson) Yetz. She attended schools in Pittsfield.

April was a self-employed long haul truck driver for many years until retiring.

She was a member of the former St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Adams.

Her husband of 25 years, James M. Swanner, died on October 25, 2023.

She is survived by her four daughters, April Richardson of Colorado, Jennifer (Brian) Lewis of Alaska, Gina (David) Decelles of Williamstown, and Jessica (Dana Loncto) Vogel of Adams; two stepdaughters, April Crews and Jamie Swanner; her brother, Rocco Yetz of Pittsfield; four sisters, Susan Marshall of Lanesboro and Lisa Griffith, Hazel Yetz and Michelle Pratt all of Pittsfield. Eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Rocco, Gary and Jan Yetz and by one sister Kay Yetz-Doerle.

Per April’s wishes there are no funeral services.

My deepest sympathy to the family of April. Although I only knew her for a short time , she was the sweetest, kindest and a pleasure to know. I had to give up caring for her due to health problems but I missed her and she was in my thoughts always. May she rest in peace?
